Great St. Monica, patroness of fathers and mothers, please take Number One Son, under your protection. Beg him to always remain faithful to his baptismal vows. Give him strength to walk always in the ways of the Lord, despite the temptations and false values he finds in the world today. Grant that he may share with you in the joys of eternal life in God.
Exemplary Mother of the great Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son not with wild threats but with prayerful cries to heaven. Intercede for me so that I may learn to draw my children to God. Teach me how to remain close to my children, even the prodigal son who has sadly gone astray. Amen.
